So I was just idly flipping through the nonsense that is ONTD, when I stumbled upon a post on Sweeney Todd. I know absolutely nothing about this musical other than it's with Johnny Depp and there's murdering... or... something. And such. Rather. Quite. ANYWAY, I was looking at the pictures when I saw one that looked quite a lot like the West Pier in Brighton.

So I’ve been going to the gym a lot lately after work in an effort to become more fit and healthy. This is all very well and good, but I’m getting tired of hearing the same old workout music. I mean, there is something that is essential in having new and fresh workout music to keep you pumped for the last stretch. I cannot tell you how many times I have wanted to give up and slow down, but then an awesome song pops up on my iPod and I’m forced to keep on trucking for another four minutes.

I basically am in complete love with this house. It's amazing. And despite all the money I've spent on furniture, bedding, and a very sparse amount of decorations, I feel very happy with everything. It's so pretty! And clean. I feel like I'm actually a grown-up all of a sudden. We had dinner on the back porch today and it was just so nice.

Since I'm so proud of it, I've taken a tour of my room. It's a bit on the small side, but that's okay. I've definitely made the most of my space.

I suddenly become very lucid and have the urge to write at 3:20 in the morning the day before my Media Law midterm. I don't know why this happens... I suppose it will simply remain a mystery forever and ever.

Whilst avoiding studying for this midterm this weekend, I have done the following:

- Cleaned up my room (THIS WAS A REALLY BIG DEAL KTHX)
- Changed the sheets on my bed
- Watched Amelie twice -- once alone, once with people
- Took random pictures of myself (all horrid and immediately deleted--VIVA LA DIGITAL REVOLUCION)
- Organized my mp3 collection
- Mopped the bathroom floor and kitchen floor (ALSO A BIG DEAL K)
- Started making a Lost in Translation vid
- Organized the fans in my room for an optimal crosswind
- Wrote a list about the things I did while avoiding my impending Midterm O' DOOM
- Danced in my underwear to silly pop songs
- Poured over my mp3 collection to find the songs with the Most Perfect Lyrics Ever
- Illogically "wrote" an entry in French despite having almost zip knowledge of the language whatsoever, even choosing to, bizarrely enough, translate a snippet from that Quizno's commercial with the weird hamster amoebas

Je vraiment ne veux pas écrire mon travail ou étudier pour mon moyen terme. Je sais que je dois, mais je m'ennuie simplement trop pour pouvoir faire ainsi. Et, le plus, ma gorge blesse un peu.

I am trying awfully hard to study for my Media Law midterm... I am sitting on my duff drinking tea, eating vegan cookies and watching Amelie while highlighting the shit out of my textbook. Nothing is sinking in, however. And I justify my watching a movie while I study because every time I tried to study earlier today, I just ended up falling asleep. Stupid cold. It's beginning to move out of my head and into my chest which is just dandy.

Today has been a really good day for movies. I saw the last half of Chinatown (which I had never seen before) and the middle of L.A. Story, which was playing on Comedy Central. I found this peculiar because Comedy Central never plays movies that I actually want to watch.

I really want to learn French. And go around being a selfless do-gooder. And show blind people around and tell them about the lollipops in the bakery window and the free melon slices that are being given away.

Like, not... "Oh... Sure... I'm finished... I have like three more pages to write, but it's basically done..." But actually finished in the sense that I have a bonafide piece of work that I will be glad to turn in tomorrow, fully feeling that this is indeed reflective of my ability. And I have a feeling that she'll like it because she called this article "lucid and well-written" during workshop. So yay.

That being said, AIM is not working for me and this is making me very sad.

Also, turkey sandwiches are delicious but they ain't workin' so well on the old tummy. BUT, I got more vegan chocolate chip cookies. These are the oatmeal kind that are just much better than the kind I got last week. You can be suspicious all you like, but really... these vegan cookies rawk hardkore.

I'm wearing my Harry Potter USC scarf so I feel very Gryffindorkish spirited.

A few comments about the Oscars:

* Tim Robbins is absolutely fantastic. I adore him and everything he stands for.
* Renee Zellweger annoys THE CRAP out of me. Can she please stop. acting. for AT LEAST two minutes? "Oh, pish posh. Let me demurely put my purse down besides me and casually thank whatever Weinstein brother is next to me and slowly walk to the podium with a smirk on my lips that is hidden by my manicured fingers and shyly look around at everyone in a way that suggests I'm shy and then..." GAH. DUDE. BE REAL once in awhile. I. BEG. OF. YOU.
* Bill Murray is the greatest ever. Fantastic, comic genius.
* Why didn't anyone ever tell me that Jamie Lee Curtis was married to Christopher Guest? That, like, makes me like her eighty billion million times more.
* Well, well, well... That little story about the American young girl going to another country and finding someone to share her time with while her husband, Spike Jonez as played by Giovanni Ribisi, goes off and does his Hollywood thing got best Adapted Screenplay. I wonder where she got her material from? Hmm.
* They should NEVER. EVER. EVER. do the whole, "Oh, let's play three slow songs at once!" thing again because I was about to fall asleep.
* Angelina Jolie really recovered from her incestual relationship with her brother and even weirder relationship with Billy Bob Thorton and now she looks great.
* I absolutely loved the song by Will Ferrel and Jack Black. They ought to make a movie together. (Unless they have already and I'm just forgetting it in which case... forgive me?)
* The tributes were touching. But Julia Roberts shouldn't have been able to present for Katherine Hepburn. If only she had half the backbone of Katherine Hepburn and been able to do justice to her great quotes.
* Ah and there was some weird fantasy film that kept winning awards. I think there were, like, what? 1? 2? I know it won for best Sound Mixing, but did it win any others? </ sarcasm> Yes, yes, all hail Peter Jackson for all that is right and good in this world. I know.

And I never saw Monster, but DUDE did Charlize looked MESSED UP in that film. d00d.

Now i have to write an article about the whole thing. Woe.

P.S. HAHAHAHA EAST COAST PEOPLE. YOU'RE NOT BETTER THAN US THIS TIME BECAUSE WE GOT IT "LIVE" (five minute delay, ok?) JUST LIKE YOU DID! That's right. Equality for all time zones. Rawk. Even if we have to watch it at 5:30, which is freakishly early.

Best Actress: Like I care. Charlize is gonna win it.
Best Supporting Actress: Um. All I saw was Cold Mountain. So. Yeah. I guess, Renee.
